The FreeHer Campaign is a national issue advocacy, distributed organizing campaign. The current battleground states are the six New England States Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire. These six states have the lowest incarceration populations of women in the country and we are working with local formerly incarcerated women leaders and our volunteer base, People Not Prisons, to decarcerate, decriminalize, and close the women's prisons in the states.

If you are interested in joining the work to end incarceration of women and girls, please get in touch with us at info@thecouncil.us

Currently, the United States has 230,000 women incarcerated.

“We’re rallying today and every day to demand that President Joe Biden and state Governors use their pardon power to - with the stroke of a pen - free women who should be in their home communities, with their families.”
